Permlink Settings in Wordpress

From what I've read here I have to configure Wordpress Permlink settings in the default mode for Easy PHP Calendar to work. Is this correct?

For SEO reasons I use a custom configuration of Permlinks; does this mean that PHP Calender won't work for me? At least not easily?

Yes and Yes.

Not using the default permalinks setting cripples navigation. If you're ok with presenting a single month with no possibility of moving ahead or back, then go ahead.
