Does this calendar support customized notifications?

Does anyone know if you can invite people to calendar events, and more importantly can you choose to invite or not invite?

A notification system is not part of the currently available version of the calendar. I do not know if one is on the list of features for the next version. You can make a suggestion in the Feature Request forum.
