Version 6.2.0 Beta 5 is available from http://www.phpcal.com/beta/
Changes since Beta 4:
Added category CSS for display in pop-ups.
Added the plugins directory.
Added the "filter.php" plug-in which will add a main category drop-down filter to a web page.
Updated the filter table to show a pointer cursor in the main Event Manager page.
Updated how the filter display works; when clicked it now loads the advanced filter page.
Updated the advanced filter page to remember the previous selections.
Updated the advanced filter page; when clicking cancel, all filters are removed.
Updated the core calendar code in a step towards XHTML 1.1 validation.

This will probably be the release version of 6.2.0 unless any bugs are found. :classic:

And now, for a truly dumb upgrade question...
"Either manually append the new categories CSS from the bottom of the system theme CSS file to the theme you're using or upload and overwrite the current default theme CSS which will add them automatically. "
Huh! What new categories CSS in the system theme CSS Not see any category section entry in the system.css. And, upload what to where? to do it automataically?
Sorry,
Rick

Filtering by Category is working great in the Events Manger. Can this be easily added to the Public area?
What I have in mind is a simple horizontal listing of the categories across the top of the page which is defaulted to All and when any clicked limited to the category. I suppose a drop down menu is just as good except that viewers don't see them right away.
Off the subject question: Is it possible to provide viewers links to either format TOC and/or Lisitngs?

Look in the theme/system directory and open the esstyle.css file.
Scroll to the bottom on the file to find the three categories CSS declarations.
Copy and paste these to the bottom of the esstyle.css file for the theme that you're using (probably default). - OR - If you haven't modified your default esstyle.css file, you can choose to upload all of the files in the theme/default directory which will effectively do the same thing.

Did you try the filter.php plugin?
I'll release an advanced filter plugin soon for multiple categories.

Hi Brian,
I haven't had much chance to explore beta 5 yet, but something I've come across when updating the scripts from beta to beta... The config keeps loosing my theme selection. Is this normal behaviour?
Here's my steps...
-have calendar running with theme of "pnTemplate"
-follow the Upgrade instructions for ionCube
-go to the setup manager and "Theme" is now "default"
I'll keep playing with this beta and with all the additions you've made and will let you know if I find anything else.

Well no, I did upload it. but find nothing in setup to integrate into the public site. Just sorta thought it would be there.
If I access the filter.php directly I get the drop down list with no entries. SO I guess I do not know how it is used.

This is normal. The theme is stored in the calendar.php file which is overwritten by the upgrade.

Sorry I didn't have time to document it before releasing the Beta, but just "require" it on the calendar page where you want the filter to appear. :classic:
