View Full Version : Changing the folder of instalation?
hi,
I have just tested the Calendar Trial Version and integration into Mambo. After an issue with paths, everything is ok.
Thouhg, I have installed on a testing version of Mambo. I mean, mambo folder is not on site root but on a folder I used to test it before changing everything to root.
Will I have special problems once I change the path? Mambo seems to work perfectly, but I have tried to do it with Calendar and got several errors. Surely I will have to modify the .php file, but, once I get the license, is there any problem also with it? Will the change affect to license?
Thank you.

You should be able to easily adjust the paths to get it to work.
Can you tell me what the errors were?

As far as changing the directory, it will not affect the license.
Hi Brian.
Thank you for your answer. I did not note the errors, though they got solved when using the complete path to script :) It was my fault I think.
By the way, is there a file where I can change the paths for EasyCalendar or do I have to reinstall the script once I have moved to root site?
Thank you again.

You can manually edit the paths if needed. They are located in the calendar.php file in the main calendar directory.
Hi again,
Thank you very much Brian. A pleasure to have this attention. I will buy license quite soon, as it expires in 5 days :)
Only objection I find to this script is the plus we must pay for removing the copyright, perhaps a cheapier fee would be fantastic. Though, the effort is really worthy :)
Thank you again.
hi Brian again:
Well, I have a problem. I have copied files to main root site, and, when changing the paths for the script in calendar.php as you said, I get this error when trying to access both events and setup pages:
"Fatal error: Incompatible file format: The encoded file has format major ID -1077947836, whereas the Optimizer expects 1; The encoded file was probably encoded by the Zend Encoder for PHP 5 (zendenc5), and therefore cannot be run on PHP 4 in /home/clubatle/public_html/modules/escal/events/index.php on line 0"
The only change I make is to remove the /mambo from the path, as it is on main root as I have said. When Easyphpcalendar runs on that folder, everything is OK. So, am I doing anything wrong? Anything I have forgotten? I remove the /mambo from here:
// SERVER (ROOT) PATH TO ESCAL FOLDER // This address should start and end with a "/" unless this is on a windows server where it will start with a drive letter; if (!isset($serverPath) || $getPaths==1) { $serverPath="/home/clubatle/public_html/modules/escal/"; }
// URL PATH TO ESCAL FOLDER // This address should start and end with a "/". * // It is usually the name of the directory this file is in (Example: "/escal/"); // * If you enter the full URL starting with "http://", this address will not be verified by the calendar script! $urlPath="/modules/escal/";

This error will occur when the files were uploaded in the wrong format or were corrupted when uploaded or moved on the server. You may want to try a fresh install to be sure this isn't the case.
The other cause could be an incompatible Zend version, but, since it was working earlier, I would go with the first possibility. :)

Hi Brian,
Thank you for your support. Well, maybe I have to do a fresh install, though I had included a lot of events in calendar yet. Is there no other possibility? I will have to rewrite all the events again. I must finish this work this week, and every piece of work suppose a pain :)
Perhaps I may backup the text file, make a fresh installation and try. Will a fresh installation catch this old txt file? I suppose yes but I always ask first :)
Thank you

since it appears you are using the flat file database.....just do a fresh install....and then copy over your flat file database file(the txt file in your database directory before the fresh install).....and then make sure your file permissions are set up properlly....and then go into the setup manager and make sure that the file name of the text file you copied is the same one that is listed under the flat file database section and also make sure to check the yes to use that system......and it will work just fine....provided that there isn't a significant version number between your 'old' install and the fresh install that you will be doing...
