View Full Version : TinyMCE :-(

I've followed all the instructions to the letter but EasyPHP still doesn't recognise that I've installed the HTML editor. It's in a folder called tinymce as instructed, and it's in the main calendar folder as instructed. I've installed the files in other applications quite happily so I know my version of them is OK.
I guess I need to know *which* files go into the tinymce folder. When I unzipped it I got a folder called jscripts which contained a folder called tiny_mce which contains the main source code plus subfolders for plugins, themes etc.
I've tried uploading the jscripts folder and renaming that to tinymce, and I've tried uploading the tiny_mce folder (i.e. one level down) and renaming *that* to tinymce. Neither setup works.
Can anybody offer any more advice, please?
Many thanks

When you extract the TinyMCE package, it should create a tinymce folder... That's the folder you want to upload without change directly to your server.
If you download the .zip package and have WinZip, just use the shell option of right-click on the file, go under WinZip and select "Extract Here", you'll get that tinymce folder. Just upload that whole folder, then go your your setup manager and enable it.

Brilliant! Worked first time. Thanks very much for the pointer, Gervais.
One last thing - how do I get EasyPHPCalendar to modify the settings in the Javascript so that I can control what buttons/features are available in the TinyMCE textarea box?
Thanks again

- actually I worked it out for myself. In case anybody else wants to know, you edit the Javascript in the header.php file which is in the calendar/events/editors/tinymce folder.
So now everything is working perfectly. Thanks for your help!

I've also installed TinyMCE under the calendar directory but in Events section it still does not recognise the editor. The tinymce directory name is ALL lowercase.... ../calendar/tinymce
Any ideas? I'm pretty sure I uploaded all files. I did upload the whole dir structure via dreamweaver. Should I have loaded up files via ftp (binary) etc.?

Did you enable it in the Setup Manager?

Hi. No I hadn't because the Events section stated that the EDITOR WAS NOT INSTALLED< despite my refreshing the page with <CTRL><F5> etc..
However, sinc emy post I uploaded the directory structure via FTP in Binary mode and now the option is visible and I can enable it.
However I now have a further error when attempting to edit an event which appears at the very bottom of the page:
Warning: Unknown(): Your script possibly relies on a session side-effect which existed until PHP 4.2.3. Please be advised that the session extension does not consider global variables as a source of data, unless register_globals is enabled. You can disable this functionality and this warning by setting session.bug_compat_42 or session.bug_compat_warn to off, respectively. in Unknown on line 0
It is not clear where to make these changes. are they within the Calendar files or is this a hosting provider issue?

This sounds like a hosting issue? Check with them and see if they can fix this...
