I want to change Sunday, Saturday, Friday.... and Juanuary, February, March...... to Chinese characters.

I also changed my IE broswer encoding to utf-8. So I can Change "Sunday" to Chinese character in the setup section. But after I submit the changes, it was changed to un-readable characters.

Then I tried to add
<meta http-equiv=\"Content-Type\" content=\"text/html; charset=utf-8\">
to setup/index.php

But it looks like can not be modified.

Any issue for this?

Thanks in advanced,

Chris

On the General page of the Setup Manager, you can change the character set. Try entering utf-8 there and see if it helps.

Please let me know if you still have issues with this.

I changed iso-8859-1 to utf-8.
But still can not show Chinese characters after save to the database, I think maybe it is because the characters changed when save to database? not sure.

Do the Chinese characters not show up in the Setup Manager, Event Manager or on the integrated calendar?

Can input / show the Chinese characters in events section.
But the "month name" "week name" doesn't work for Chinese version.

Such as: I changed "Sunday" to Chinese character, but just show "???" marks in everywhere, even I have already changed charset=utf-8 and also changed encoding=utf-8 in IE broswer.

Thank you for your patience while trying to file a viable solution to this issue.

Can you try opening the config.inc.php file on the server and manually editing it to change the month and day names?

Can you provide me with a list of those names?

I can not modify config.inc.php on server side, so I changed it on local machine. and attached here for you review.

After I uploaded config.inc.php to server, it appeared this:

Parse error: parse error, unexpected $ in /home/ccuecom/public_html/toronto/calendar/calendar/config.inc.php on line 148

Thanks. It seems PHP is changing the format of the characters... Give me a little time to research this and see if I can find a solution.

I've been working on the Version 6.3.05 (which was just released).

I hope to look at this issue some time this weekend.

Hi Brian,

Did you have chance to take a look at the Chinese Version?
We want to purchase this application if it can support Chinese Characters.

I am looking forward to hearing for you soon.

Thanks,

Chris

I may have found something now!

Please open a support ticket so I can give you access to a test Setup Manager to see if I am on the right path...
