ZEND or ??? Required

In another post in this forum, I read that Zend or something else is reuired for EZC. Can I not just use a text editor? Why is Zend Studio a requirement?

Also, this is a great forum instantiation. Is this your code as well?

Zend Studio is NOT required.

It's the free Zend Optimizer or ionCube support that is required. Running the tester script from the Free Download page will tell you if you are compatible. :)
