OK, I installed the Zend Optimizer on my local machine (i.e. my PowerBook) and installed the trial calendar locally. Works beautifully.

Now, the problem. My client is a non-profit that had a custom website built in 2001. He hired me in October to update and refit the site. The site is hosted on the original designing company's server -- BUT the company is out of business. It maintains the "web storage/server" facility as an accomodation to their past clients but they do not provide technical support. [The untold truth is that the original designer who owned and operated a tiny web development business took an IT job with a local HUGE company and was forced to suspend web design services.] I have the phpinfo() file on the site and uploaded the tester folder. There is no ZEND OPTIMIZER installed and I can guarantee that I can't do to their server what I just had to do locally -- install the optimizer.

I appreciate the need to keep code proprietary, so I support your use of the Optimizer. Help me develop a "work-around" because I really like your calendar product.

If you want to peek at their PHP info, the phpfile address is www/msjga.org/phpinfo.php. (http://www.msjga.org/phpinfo.php)

Thanks for dealing with "a pain."

Did you try the tester script from the Free Download page? The server may be compatible with the ionCube version. If not, there really isn't a way to run the script as the server needs to support either Zend Optimizer or ionCube.

it said "The Linux Loader for PHP 4.3 release is required" and I assumed that it would be the same thing. Can you load the Linux Loader into the website and not worry about the "server" The tester did say "PASS" for ionCube.

Also, will having the "Zend" version local and the "ionCube" version on the prod/svr be a problem?

Thanks,
Jon

The loader is included with the calendar download for the ionCube version. So, you should be able to install it and just run the script. :)
