What do you do if you don't have control over the server?

I recently switched web hosts. I must have been lucky with the first one because, frankly, I didn't pay attentio to Zend or Ion Cube or whatever, and the calendar worked fine. Well, when I try to install the calendar on the new host, neither version works. So I download the Zend Optimizer and I'm reading thru the docs. I have to install this thing on the server AND reboot. Well, I'm not in charge of the server. What do I do - send them an email and politely ask them to reboot?

There has to be a better way to run a PHP product without relying on an optimizer. Any suggestions?

I would run the tester script from our Free Download page to confirm if either the Zend or ionCube version appears to be compatible. It will provide suggestions to possible solutions if there are errors with the test.
