Ignore this: The problem seemed to be with wsftp pro. Everything is okay now.
This is the 3rd Install I have done. The other two are on the same server. Both are zend 4 Installs. I auto installed. When I look at the calendar directory, I see one folder only. (ipf-work-dir-1136941253). On the other installs I see the full compliment of files and folders. The strange thing is that I can reach the calendar via http: and it seems to be there -- when I log into the admin, I am able to log in but when I try to mofify the database: I get the following message screen:
There was an error writing to the flat-file database 'caldat.php'.
To create a new database, rename the 'NEWcaldat.php file' in the database directory to 'caldat.php'
or upload a blank file with that name to the database directory. Give the file write permissions (CHMOD 646).
No events can be saved until this issue is resolved.

However logging in via ftp, there are no visible file directories or files?
Any idea what could be wrong? Should I just delete everything and start over?
It seems to be very strange, especially as I have 2 instances of the calendar running in other virtual directories.
