I’ve had an exciting week!

I did some voiceover work for an area television station and the spots started airing this week. First time for TV. Previously I was in the newspaper business for 9 years before moving to strictly IT work. And I’ve also done a spot or two for radio. I’ve also had photos published in magazines… so now I’ve about covered all the different mediums. :)

Yesterday, my wife and I closed on our new home. We’re very excited and should start moving in next weekend.

But, our closing was marred by a hit and run driver that smashed into the rear bumper and passenger side quarter-panel of the Mustang and left the scene. This was about a hour before we had to go to the closing (a 2 hour drive). We were not in the vehicle at the time and we didn't see it happen. There were no witnesses. Pieces of their vehicle were found “in” our car. We filed a police report, but are not optimistic that the culprit will be found. :(

And now, last night, after 6 long weeks of competition, the final Karaoke sing-off was held. I took second spot and my best friend took first (which he deserved). We all had a great time.

And now, to add insult to injury... last night, on our way back to our primary home from the new one, my wife and I were in our Toyota Highlander Hybrid and were going around a blind curb down a hill. When we arrived at the bottom, I saw pieces of a large gas grill in the road. Because we were traveling 55 MPH (the speed limit) and the limited sight distance, I had no time to slow down, much less stop.

I tried to dodge everything the best I could, but I caught a large-broken piece of the metal cover in the right-rear tire which almost instantly lost all of it's air. We ended up in the front yard of someone where I changed the tire and checked for any other damage. Everything else seemed okay and fortunately the spare tire was a full-sized tire.

You know man... sometimes you have to look at the signs... :) Stay home, take a day or two off... ;)
