Error Connecting to FTP server

Hello -

I am trying to use the auto-installer to a remote server. It doesn't seem to work. I have the ftp server address, the port, the username, the password.

I "Browse" to find the folder to try to create the install folder in, and a new window pops up:

Then I get an error: EasyPHPCalendar Setup: Error connecting to FTP server: Unable to resolve host. Retry?

I don't retry.

I feel like this might be a very basic problem. What should I do?

Did you normally use port 21 to connect via FTP? (Or do you use secure FTP?)

Here is the reply I received from my host:

"Yes, port 21 is correct. Are you sure the
two problems are connected? It could be an issue with the software you are
using to FTP. You should be able to upload folders without a problem."
