I have an existing web interface for booking a property.

I want to write the dates to epc_calendar but cannot get the category to work.

The dates are written however the category - which seems coded is not.

Any suggestions?

Enter a few test events using the Event Manager using every combination of category, and using that, figure out how to manipulate your script so that the category matches.

I tried this and found that the category that appeared in the database was something like e5[x and when I entered this from a script it did not show in the calendar.
I only have one category - as the place is booked or not.

If you enter a new record manually, using all the same values as an event entered from the Event Manager (except for the event id), you're saying that it won't show up in the calendar?
