Hello,

I click on Easy PHP Calendar from within my wordpress admin panel and then click on the setup tab and I see this error.

I am not a techie so your extra attention to detail in your instructions are much appreciated.

The file /homepages/24/d229486313/htdocs/calendar/setup/index.php was encoded with the PHP 5 ionCube Encoder, and requires PHP 5 to be installed.

Thank you in advance.

Is this a new installation?

What version of PHP is on your server?

Hi Brian, thank you so much for your quick response. I really want to purchase this and get it installed.

New installation = Yes

May I ask you how I can check to see what version of PHP is running on the server?

Thanks in advance.

You can download the run the tester script from the Free Download page and it will tell you your PHP version and provide direct links to download the calendar files that are compatible with your server.

(I think you've downloaded the PHP5 calendar files when you actually need the PHP4 files.)

Hi Brian,

You were right, I installed the wrong test version so I downloaded version 4 and it worked. See Below..

Paths Updated! The paths in the calendar.php file have been updated.
Trial License Has Expired!

To continue using the Easy PHP Calendar, Click Here (http://www.easyphpcalendar.com/forums/../buyNow.php) to purchase a license.

I was wrong when I said that it is the first time, I tried once before
and now it is telling me that the trial licenese has expired and I need to purchase a fully licensed copy. I would buy it but it tells me not to buy it until I have fully verified the test download to be compatible with my server.

Could you please provide a new temporary trial license as I want to get this going as soon as possible.

Please let me know how I should proceed.

Thank you in advance.

Please open a support ticket and include the license key from the Setup Manager that you have now.

Thanks Brian, I am making progress.

I am now configuring the database and I get this error.

There was an error connecting to the mySQL database.

The error was reported as:

Unknown MySQL Server Host ' db1287.perfora.net' (1)

Is the Server Host name the same as Database Host?

Thank you

Hi Brian,

I have enabled these options under event descriptions.

Allow HTML in Event Descriptions: = YES
Convert Links in HTML = YES

Could you please let me know if I need a dedicated server to enable hyperlinks when I create a calendar event?

Right now I am on a shared server with a webhost that told me I will need a dedicated server to run this EasyPHPCalendar.. Is this true?

Thank you in advance.

I have no idea why someone would tell you that. It is not true by any means.

This site itself is on a shared server (mine) and I have many other accounts running on it.

Hi Brian, I have the demo successfully installed and I am working with it. I love it!

One question.. right now when I place the mouse arrow over a date on the calendar I see a popup window to the lower right displaying my event, this is great. Please let me know what feature(s) I need to enable so I can click on the date and have the popup window display the event in another larger window.

Right now when I click on the date with my event it takes me to the Add New Event page instead of the Event itself.

Thank you in advance!

Use the Setup Manager to enable "on-click" pop-ups windows.

Right now when I click on the date with my event it takes me to the Add New Event page instead of the Event itself.

You should log out of the event manager and this won't happen.
