View Full Version : Links won't display as clickable links
After I set the event descriptions to allow HTML and to make links clickable, the links in my event descriptions did indeed become clickable. But only on some of the events. And today all clickable links have reverted to being unclickable text.
Is this to be expected in WordPress or am I experiencing something new and strange? I couldn't find any other posts on it.

Not all links. I checked your calendar on some future months and links are still apearing (I saw a link to youtube, one to another page of your site, and some more).
For the links to be automatically converted, make sure that you have the http:// in the description. Once the link gets converted, the prefix will not be shown, but needs to be there for proper flagging.
Wow! That was surreal. I checked it yesterday and there were no links.
What must have happened is that since I tried to add the http on a couple of links to see if that made any difference, I then overlooked those on the actual calendar and only checked them in the edit window calendar.
Because no links are visible within the edit page of WordPress (using the plugin to edit within Dashboard), with or without http. But since they evidently display correctly on the calendar itself, that is of course more than good enough!
I can't believe I didn't see that when I checked yesterday tho.
Thank you so much! Now I have another great feature to implement in all posts.

Oh, you are correct... there is no parsing in the Event Manager. So you won't see links there. As long as your links are correctly formed, they will be parsed once they're sent to the client side of the display (calendar, popups, list, etc).
Well it works nicely now. I don't suppose there is any way of getting mailto: links to work as well?

Although mailto: links are not converted automatically, you can add a regular HTML link (just make sure that Allow HTML is enabled in the Setup Manager). Like so : <a href="mailto:fakeemail@fake.com">Fake Email</a>
Perfect! This is great!
Now I actually can't
think of anything else to change or improve. As far as I can see now, the calendar is perfectly integrated into the WordPress environment.
Thanks a lot!
