Hello and first off let me say that Easy PHP Calendar is definitely the best calendar software on the net.

Second, I'd like to as a couple questions regarding the calendar itself. I searched the form but could not find what I was looking for so I'm very sorry if this has been answered already.

1. I own a web development / web hosting company and would like to use this script to provide to my clients that wish to have a stable calendar integrated into their site. If I purchase multiple licenses, and if the key is generated somewhat off the IP/Domain, how will that effect my clients that do not all reside on the same server / domain?

2. While testing the trial version, which I downloaded and installed today around 2 - 3 pm ish, I just now received a license error with a "running in limited mode" and its only about 11pm. My server has a static IP so I know its not that and I didnt transfer it from one domain to another not even using a subdomain off the root. However, I did integrate it into multiple pages (approx 6 I believe) for a seamless look on all pages. Is this the problem? Can I not integrate the calendar script into as many pages as I wish off the same domain? Because one of the reasons I'd like to offer the client the calendar is the hopes of having a really nice calendar integrated through-out the site and not just one page such as the index. I reset the key but the problem still presists.

3. Exactly how stable is the software? I notice there's quite a bit of errors (which is what happens when programming comes into play and all servers dont behave alike) but I'd like to be assured that if I do purchase multiple licenses for client distribution (if its feasible to do so) they wont one day wake up with multiple key errors.

Thank you for your time and help in this matter.

I'll try to give you the best answer, but Brian is the authority when it comes to licensing and such.

1. Each domain needs its own license. You can buy the license on behalf of your clients, but each client will need their own. If you do bulk orders, there are savings.

2. You can integrate the calendar in as many pages as you wish (all on the same domain of course). I do not know what caused your particular situation, but if you're accessing the server using "localhost" this will get you an automatic "Key expired" error. There's no way to provide a unique "localhost" license, so no license is given to locahosts. If that is not the case, Brian would be your best source of information, so you can open a Support Ticket.

3. Very stable! Just recently (yesterday I think) someone posted that their calendar had been working for a very long time but was now giving a parse error [problem seemed like the file was edited and over-written]. It had been running fine for over three years (v5.7 was released Sept 2004). Another example is that 6.3.24 [the latest version] has been released Jan 2007 (with 6.3.24b being a security fix released Aug 2007). And of course, the bane of most forums, you'll mostly hear about the customers with problems... but how many more clients have been running hitch free for years? :)

As an aside, should your calendar ever have a problem, I don't think you could have any faster support than from this team. Our post times will attest to that. Brian is one of the quickest triggers on Support Tickets. ;)

Thank you ve9gra for your speedy reply.

Must have been the localhost then because for the server that's what I used. Though its weird that it'd take nearly 9 hours to break. Is there a way to set the key on the domain only and not the IP? I'm not to found of using full IP paths in programs when all I have to do is set 'localhost'.

Thank you for your help.

Actually, I was thinking of "localhost" as the term used in the config file which of course I did, I wasn't thinking of it has http://localhost. Which was my mistake and I apologize.

This morning I rechecked the website and everything is working fine now so I'm not sure what's going on. Nothing was changed since last night.

I'll keep a look out to why the calendar keeps breaking like it does.

Thank you.
