I think I did everything right in the installation.

The tester said I could install with ioncube, so I uploaded all the files in Binary mode, changed the permissions (using Transmit for Mac for the FTP and permission changing). But when I went to http://mysite.com/calendar/setup/index.php, I get a huge page filled with question marks ????????? and a few other random characters.

What's wrong here? I've gone back and changed the permissions to the two others mentioned in the instructions, but to no avail. I've tried transferring the selected files in ASCII mode, but no good. Always the same page full of question marks ???????

I also tried scrapping my original downloaded EasyPHP Calendar files and downloaded the whole set again, and then repeating the installation process, but nothing has worked so far.

Any ideas out there what's wrong? I really want to use this program and I'm hoping to get it up and running and buy it, then install the wordpress admin cp. But first I have to get to the home page to set it up. Please help!

Try running the calendar/ioncube/ioncube-loader-helper.php file and see what it says.

Hi Brian,

Thanks for getting back to me so promptly. I'd appreciate any further help you can offer to get your great calendar program up and running on my site. I did email ionCube support with a link to this script, as suggested below, but I haven't heard back from them yet. So I'm still stuck. Here are the results of your suggestion:

I did try running the calendar/ioncube/ioncube-loader-helper.php , and it took me to this page:

"An ionCube Loader file is required by PHP to read files encoded with the ionCube Encoder. This page will determine how you can install Loaders on this particular server.

The loading of ionCube encoded files is not currently working correctly on this server.

If you have permission to edit the php.ini configuration file for this server, please follow the php.ini installation instructions.

If you do not access to the php.ini file, please follow the run-time loading installation instructions.

Please read the online documentation, or review the file readme.txt enclosed with the Loader bundle, for more help with Loader installation."

I tried the runtime installation, but I got this result:

http://cphan.org/calendar/ioncube/ioncube-loader-helper.php?page=rtl-tester

on this page it says:

Warning: dl() [function.dl]: Temporary module name should contain only filename in /usr/home/cphan/www/htdocs/calendar/ioncube/ioncube-loader-helper.php on line 411

This basically says that runtime loading is disabled on your server and that you will need to load ionCube in the php.ini to make it work.

You should contact your host to see if they can help you out with the proper settings.
