Default Calendar stopped working - Help please!

When I went to my website today that displays the calendar on the front page, I get the following error:
The file /usr/home/mvmadm/www/htdocs/calendar/functions/functions.inc.php has been encoded with the ionCube PHP Encoder and requires the free ioncube_loader_fre_4.4.so ionCube PHP Loader to be installed.

It was working... What has happened and what do I need to do? I removed the calendar from index.php so my home page will display.

Help would be appreciated? I can't believe I need to install ionCube PHP loader, this was all working and I did not even upgrade recently or change anything with the calendar.
