Another PhPBB Thread

So, I've read the few PhPBB threads that basically state that it's an incredibly difficult/time consuming task because of how PhPBB was designed (templates).
I have an alterate request/approach though (although I'm a novice so maybe i'm full of it).
PhPBB uses a file called Page_Header.php which builds the HTML for each page when you view it. What about modifying it with the code you need to display a Calendar in it, so that when you create a new forum post, you can embed the calendar in the post? I have already modded the forums to accept HTML in every post, so do you think might work? I want to see if your forums will work before I purchase them so I'm hoping this might provide a better method. Otherwise, I'll have to use one of the free calendar mods for PhPBB that I don't like nearly as much.

I'm not sure if you can put PHP code in the post description (that would probably be a huge security risk).

There's only three things you need to do to make the calendar work (which are outlined in the Integration instructions). If you can figure out where to insert those three pieces of code in PHPbb, it should work.

I have to be honest, the replies I'm seeing for anyone running PhPBB are not very helpful.
I'm not a developer, an engineer sure, but that doesn't mean I can just figure out the best place to drop some code. The fact is that PhPBB is probably the most popular forum program out there and your product only works with it through a serious amount of work.

EasyMod is a 'modification' auto-installer for PhPBB that is incredibly popular. You basically write a text file with your code snipets and what it does is parse it and automaticaly drops your code in places throughout the template files, etc.
If you were to write an EasyMod file, you could have your calendar auto-deployed as both being able to drop in HTML and have it reside as a post, or have it display on the main page which is what everyone else does with their free calendar mods for PhPBB.
