Default Domain / Subdomain

Hello -

First of all, great calendar. Well worth the price.

Have a question though. I have the calendar up and running on a site. Client has a new site setup on the same server as a subdomain. Client wants to be able to manage the one calendar and have it appear on both sites (ie. same database, style, etc).

Right now I am getting the license key error on the second site. I have seen a discussion about using a simple redirect to the first site's calendar page, but client wants both calendars to display within the "skin" of each respective site.

A redirect from "site 2" will merely take me to "site 1". I need to have the calendar from "site 1" displayed ON "site 2" not redirected from "site 2" to "site 1".

Any thoughts on how to use the same database across two sites that share the same host/db?

Thanks in advance for your help!

Regards,
Tim Carey

You can share a SQL database between the two calendars. If the sites are not mirror images or one-another, you'll need a license for each site.

So if I were to create another page on "site 1" that had the style of "site 2" then I could use the calendar twice (as long as it is part of the same domain)?

If so, I can do that. Let me know if my thinking is correct.

The calendar is licensed to a domain. The only exception is parked domains.

As long as the second calendar if for the same group/organization, you would only need one license.

OK, so I purchased the second license and installed it on the server. So now I have two sites with two calendars. Now how do I get both calendars to talk to the same mySQL database?

My client wants to be able to manage both calendars via one action, so hopefully this can be done from either calendar control panel?

Thanks in advance for your help!

Just enter the same mySQL database information in both Setup Managers. Then they will both connect to and manage events in the one database.
