Default Database setup

Hello, I am running a trial version of this calendar to see if it will work well with my host, but I am having difficulty with the database setup

I have up a database in MySql and I have read the forum about how to do the database set up and gathered these things:
1. Database host = local host
2. if there is not a table created within the database, the setup will give you an option to run a script and that will set up the calendar table within you database for you.

I have entered my DB Username, DB Password, and filled out the blanks, I hit Save and the calendar page stopped working. I can get to the login page, but the from there when I log in it gives me the "page cannot be displayed" error. I deleted the calendar file from my ftp, and redid auto-install, and the same thing happened again at the database setup page.

Also when I checked with my control panel for my website, there is not a table added to my database.

Can you help?

Can you test if it will work with a flat-file database? (This will help pinpoint the cause of the issue).

Do you have other applications that use mySQL successfully?
