Question Event Formatting with HTML tags

I am trying to format my events with HTML tags. The link tags work (<a></a>), but bold, italics, etc do not. The formatting does not show up in the popups or the list mode. I have tried altering the CSS file to remove the "font-weight:normal" code and changing the text size from 10px to 11px, to no avail. Any suggestions? Allow HTML is set to yes.
