Here we go again! (Hurricane)

Hurricane Ivan, the sixth most powerful hurricane ever recorded is currently projected to hit the Florida panhandle... which is inconvenient because that is where I live.

Well, it's looking really dismal for us here in the Florida panhandle at the moment. I'm going to be very busy tonight, packing and making sure I have an inventory of everything just in case.

Tomorrow, I'll be preparing the office where I work (on a barrier island) for the hurricane and getting ready to leave.

The server this web site is on is in the NW US so the web site and ordering system will work while I'm away. Please continue to purchase the script and use the forum for support. The moderators and others should be able to help with most issues.

I hope the storm is not too bad, but my wife and I are preparing for the worst. We'll probably evacuate late Tuesday or early Wednesday so you won't see too much of me around here.

Depending on how the storm affects the power and other utilities, I may be out of contact for several days, if not longer. I will try to post here somehow how we made it through the storm when it first becomes possible.

I had to leave my home for a safer building. There have been over 70 homes damaged from tornados within the past hour and a half, including two fatalities. The radio just reported there are three tornados heading towards our area.

I don't know how long this connection will last. I will try to keep in touch.

Huge amount of hurricanes around the world right now, lucky me i newer have seen one here in Sweden.

We were spared the brunt of the damage. A tornado passed just 100 yards from my home. Those to the west of us weren't so lucky. Panama City (an hour from my home) and further towards Alabama had significant damages from tornados and flooding. A large section of the I-10 bridge in Pensacola was washed away. Not very good. These things aren't to be taken lightly.

I was trying to hold a door open for some people to take cover and saw and heard a tree snap in half across the street and fall to the ground.

I lost phones and my DSL connection for a while, but everything is up and running now.
