Default login to events corrupted

I have several calendar installations running versions 6 and 7. I am getting an error at the events login screen for both installations:
...
events/index.php is corrupted. Ensure that you use binary mode when transferring files with FTP and disable the 'TAR smart cr/lf feature' if using WinZIP

I haven't changed anything. I think my wp site was hacked - would that cause this login error?

Sounds like your host moved your account to a different location and used FTP for the transfer and didn't do the transfer in Binary...

Follow the upgrade instructions, but use the same version that you already have, and that will refresh the files.

Probably not your problem but just an FYI, my wp site was hacked and the index.php file in each events folder had base64 code string appended to the beginning of the file. I will reinstall the files.

I reinstalled the calendar into a new database using vs. 7. Can I import my sql backup from version 6 into this database? I have access to the old database but not the online calendar so I can't use the converter.

Not sure if there are changes between version 6 and 7 that will affect the import.
Thank you

You will need to use the converter script and at least the old config.inc.php file from version 6 in it's only directory.
