.htaccess 301 redirect

Can anybody suggest any way to redirect index.php to root so that the search engines don't index both www.domain.com/ and www.domain.com/index.php? When I attempted to redirect so that only www.domain.com/?mo... showed, the calendar quit functioning.

That should work. How do you mean it quit functioning? Can you give an example or the real links?

Off of your response I attempted a different .htaccess configuration and it is working now. Something I was doing incorrectly - sorry for the post
