Default Creating calendar entries externally....

I was hoping that I can create calendar entries externally via MySQL and a PHP page.

I haven't really found anything specific on the topic.

Is it possible to open the calendar DB and table by another PHP script and create a new record with appropriate fields populated?

Thanks in advance!

Yes, you could do this (I know of others that have). But this isn't something we can officially support.

Just add some similar events using the Event Manager and replicate them with your script.

Thanks for the quick reply!

I'll give it a try.

...and thanks for the support clarification - I'll make backups of the table before I go poking around...

I have noticed that the date values in the Calendar table are a numeric value.

I saw the meaning of this somewhere but cannot remember enough to figure out how this type of numerical data is rendered to/from a date value.

Can you point me - perhaps only a gentle nudge is necessary - in the right direction?

Forgotten too much, I remain -

Now, this is not the format for V7, but there's still good info in there.

Default data format

Well, THAT was pretty NOOB of me...

I was also thinking about poking around in the Manager input code for a clue... Your suggestion is superior.

Thank you!
