Default Can't Connect to Database

Working on a friend's site. She originally had Easy PHP Calendar. the trial expired and 3 years went by. I worked on her site recently and found a page with question marks. Not knowing what it was because I didn't know she once installed Easy PHP Calendar, I deleted the page and associated files from the server because the question marks looked questionable (no pun intended). Two weeks ago site owner decides she wants a calendar and has me buy Easy PHP Calendar. Install seemed to go OK, but when I decided to actually enter event dates in the admin, a dialog says there is not a database configured. I used the CPanel Database wizard and created a new database. But Easy PHP Calendar can not connect to it.
I'm thinking... CPanel lists another pre-existing database with a calendar name. Could this be from the previous trail installation. Should I delete this database and delete the current install of PHP Calendar then do a reinstall (start over)?

Also is there a proper way to uninstall Easy PHP Calendar, or should I just delete the "calendar" folder?

You have to go in the Setup Manager for EPC and provide the database information before it'll work (I'm hoping you did that, but you didn't specify).

Depending on the host, they might have a different way of connecting to the server. Most of the time, you'd use "localhost" for the server... but some installs require you to specify a different hostname.

If you are getting an error message, it would be helpful to get it.

As for uninstalling, delete the folder, remove the table (and database if it was the only table in it), and then remove any references to the calendar in any files that the calendar was integrated into.
