Default year view

Is it possible to customize the calendar view to show all 12 months of a given year at once.

Yes, that's called the Multi-Calendar Generator plugin. Or you can also list 12 months in the List mode.

Thank you!
Is that plugin included or is it extra? Where can I find a list of plug-ins?

It is included, and you can find details in the Online Documentation.

There is no plugin for that. You would have to call the TOC 12 times, increasing the $mo and $yr values manually.
