It is possible that your host has moved your account to a different host (they do that for load balancing) and may have transferred your files in ASCII mode instead of Binary...
Download a fresh .zip of the most recent EPC update, and follow the upgrade instructions.
Note: Don't change version... if you had V6, get the latest V6 from the download page. If you had V7, get the latest version from your client portal.
