Default missing out admin password

Hi,
As I have a secure admin area for the site, I have created a link to the events admin through the url so that the admin does not have to log in to administration and then escal admin as well:

http://www.mysite.co.uk/escal/events...is&pwd=cabbage

It works perfectly but........
Once in the admin section I can add events but they do not get put into the database ?
As soon as I enter the admin through the login, everything works fine.
Only narrowed it down to password being passed in the url after 3 fresh installs

You're missing one critical piece of information which is the database type.

Just add &dataMode=f to the end of the link to the Event Mangaer. (Change f to s if using mySQL.)
