Default Multiple Dates incorrect

Hi,

I have just purchased the calendar, and now entering all my events.

Thesite is for a school, and want to have the holiday show as well, as these last for about 6 weeks, in the calendar setup options for the event manager i set maximum days of events to 60 days, which will cover the period,

when i enter the event in event manger setup, i use floating repeating option , and the calendar dates to enter as it only shows month, for july1 to august 23, but when it stores it as july 3 to august 25,

any ideas what could be the problem.

also i set up a selection called holidays, is there a way to block out certain selections in the listings module. or should i put them as categories, and can catgories be filtered out in listings.

Cheers

G

I'm not sure I understand the floating/repeating event problem? It's not possible to specify a specific date to start when using a floating event. You should use a repeating event for that.

You can set the holidays as a category. You can't filter them out, but you can filter the other categories to display. (See the showCat feature in the instructions on how to do this).

I think my problem is I am not understanding the difference betwen Categories and selections,

In the set up manger The top section main category has color coded symbols, I think my understanding is that each colour correspond to a categoy, eg, holidays could be yellow, each section underneath that is a sub category, eg, summer holiday is a sub category of holiday, as is easter holidays, but all would be paired with yellow code

is this correct?

Therfore I cant find the categorgory number to put in to x in the $showcat="x"; how do i get x?

Sorry this bit i cant get

Cheers

This is from the instructions file:

$showCat="X";
Filter the list of events by category "X". Use the Advanced Filter option of the Event Manager to construct specific filters. While viewing the Advanced Filter screen after executing a filter, at the end of the yellow Filter table is the code to add to the showCat variable to perform this filter operation in your own pages. It will appear like "1|4|7 or a|2|5|9". Add this just before require("calendar/calendar.php");
