Can't delete an event

I can create and edit but not delete an event.

This is what I do:
1. Select the event in Event Admin and bring up Edit Event window
2. Click Delete Event. The "Are you sure..." message pops up; click OK. Then the "succesfully updated" message appears -- but the deleted event still appears in the calendar.

What am I doing wrong? Have searched the forum but can't get an answer that works.

PS. I'm scared to upgrade to 6.2.8 as I haven't figured out how to back up the calendar database; getting this thing to work took me over 20 hours, and capturing the events a few days. Just can't afford to lose all that work if something goes wrong.

You need to do a SQL dump to back up your database. You web host provider should be able to help.

That only major thing (besides security enhancements) that's changed since the version you're using is the Categories. They'll need to be reconfigured after upgrading.

Please upgrade to the latest version ASAP then, if you still have the delete issue, let me know and I'll be glad to help.
