Clarification on Category Filter Menu Options

According to the online docs, the Category Filter

will add a drop-down menu with the primary categories to a web page

While I would read that to mean that the upper-level categories (including the main category and any user-created categories) will appear in the menu, it appears that it is actually referring to Main Category "selections" (for which a better name might be "subcategories").

What this means, if I'm correct (and fix me if I'm not), is that new upper-level categories don't show up in the menu at all.

Does anybody have a different experience?

The means that it will display the main category title and it's selections.

I'll clarify that better in the docs for the next release.

Any chance that there can be a pull-down menu to select secondary catagory choices?
