Automatic sizing calendar TOC cells

Under Internet Explorer 6, when the number of items in a single day overflows the available area of the cell they are in, they are clipped. Under Firefox, the cell is expanded to fit the text. Does anyone know what style sheet properties to set to allow IE to work this way also? See attachment for example of problem.
I realize this is probably more of a CSS/HTML issue than anything related directly to the calendar script, but I was hoping someone here may have encountered this problem and solved it.

Off the top of my head, I'm not sure about this....

Perhaps someone else will be able to help?
