Default Upgraded and categories disappear

I've searched the forums and not found a solution to this problem.

I just upgraded to the newest version from Version 6.1.5. My problem is that my categories are completely gone! Even when I restore my old config.inc.php file, it still doesn't update! It just shows the default Bithdays, Events, Holidays, & Special Events.

I would just start over with categories, but I can't figure out how the new categories work. It is quite different than the category setup in my old version.

Can anyone help? I wish I had never upgraded...

After upgrading, you should log into the Setup Manager then go to the categories screen. This will update your categories to the new format automatically after clicking the Save button. You must be using your original config.inc.php file.

(This is in the upgrade instructions).

I didn't even try restoring the old config file until after I saw that my categories were wiped out! Then I put it in there and nothing changed. They were still gone.

Please open a support ticket and attach your config.inc.php file and I'll take a look.
