Removing Category Bar from Calendar and Listings

Is there anyway to remove the category bar to the left of text in the calendar and listings?

Sorry if this has been discussed before. I've looked and couldn't find anything.

You don't want to use the category colors?

There won't be a way to completely remove it from the TOC mode, but you can from the List Mode (by editing the list mode template and removing the [category] section.
