Brian had closed the thread when I got to your reply. You can modify your blog mode to display more than one day at a time.

The example I showed you the other day, while it works, did not actually have more than one event per day listed. I have edited the events on July 11 to correct this so that you can see multiple events do indeed stack in one day.


Post back to this thread and we will talk about how it's setup. Vegra9 (that's close) helped me to do it, and I think it's something that can semi-easily be done.

Thanks so much for putting my name in the subject -- I surely would have missed it otherwise.

I'd love to see how you arranged that. Right now I use iframes holding a given number of events (I specify in the code) from our-soon-to-be-demolished WebCalendar. It's clunky and doesn't integrate nicely into all the various places I'd like it to go.

I'd love to do a similar pull of upcoming events from Easy PHP, that can integrate seamlessly into the content, style-wise. But I defintely need multiple events grouped under one date, like the current iframe.

As on your site (very nice!) on some pages I'm hoping to put the little calendar or maybe two -- current and next month. On others, just a list of upcoming events for a specified number of upcoming days, also filtered (by code) for certain categories. Ideally the upcoming events list would display titles only, which would be linked to pop-ups for full descriptions. And of course, that big ol' version for people that just can't shake old habits. ;P

I'm just in the process of integrating/customizing EPHP tonight and am still fussing with CSS at the moment so it looks horrid.

As long as I'm bugging you, how did you manage to get the event titles to print in the category color?? I've searched all through this forum and kept coming up with 'it can't be done.'

And am I seeing things or were you able to get two category colors for a single category: a dark one for the listings and a lighter one for the little calendar? That's been bugging me, too.

(I'm an inveterate (and never satisfied) tweaker and not having the source code to nudge things around a bit is going to be a big challenge for me. That's one of the reasons I want to move from WebCalendar. I nudged it so much that code updates are a nightmare. I've waited for months and months for the new template-based version to come out and finally gave up. It was also overkill for our needs, but free!)

Easy PHP Calendar looks like it will eventually be perfect and I really appreciate the help!

Not a problem at all, glad I caught you.

The calendar was not *so* hard to setup, mostly because Vegra (that's not quite right, but it's too early to call me on it) helped me so much.

let me know which problem or section you're wanting to start working on and i'd be more than happy to help - if I can.

Additionally, if you're working on the css stuff, I woudl definitely suggest....Ok, i'm going to have to google, hold up. Here, EPC Tutorials.

I spent some playing with it and think I have a good handle on what I need to work on the most.

I'm not much liking my quick-and-dirty test at http://stjuliana.org/school/index-test.php. I definitely need to group events into single dates (the mouseovers in and out are as bad as blinking text!) and also will probably want to put some sort of visual separation between the dates but I don't know what just yet. A HR for testing at least. I like the date delineation in the iframe at the bottom of the page and would like to approximate that somewhat, if possible.

Have you been to EPC Tutorials yet? There are css "maps" that show you what css maps to what point ont he document - a great, easy way to see how to easily change the layout of your css.

I'm still playing with the templates and I think I can figure out visually separating dates, depending on how the hack works to group events under a single date.

The iframe is an include that is part of my old calendar script so I didn't have to do any scripting myself. It's open source so it was very easy to mod the HTML in the upcoming.php file to display the events as I desired.

Where are you at on this and what are you currently working on? You mention several things you're working on, but not specific goals for thos things. Were you able to get dates to display under a single date heading?

My first priority would be to get multiple events (entered individually) to appear under a single date. I do not even know where to begin with that as every time I start to work on it I run into something that seems like it would be handled in the source code. Any help with that would be greatly appreciated, thanks.

After that, I think much of what I want to do will be accommodated in version 7, so I think I'll just setlle for some minor tweaking and wait for the new release.
