Default Display filter categories in columns

Long time lurker, first time poster ;-) This is the best calendar I have seen!

I just installed epc on my site and I have the category filter in a cell just beneath the calendar. I am wondering if there is any way to make the category legend display in 2 columns (I currently have 7 cats total). I am very limited in my abilities with, well... all things techy really, so bear this in mind.

The legend plugin is available to be edited... but you'd need to know a little PHP to make this work. Do you think you're up for the challenge?

Not really. We're talking many hours of cursing, wailing and gnashing of teeth! However, I'll start trying to figure it out straight away!

The code is already there... it just needs to be changed to two columns instead of one.

If you get stuck, let us know.

Ok - I'm stuck. Can you share that with me? I can't even say that I got close really, but I do have a php manual on the way from Amazon....

Also, is there a way to send you a private link to my calendar page - I would appreciate your critique if you have time to look at it.

I may be confused by the wording here... Let me make sure I'm on the same page as you...

Can you "mock up" something to look like what you want to do?

I'm not sure how I would do that - let me try and explain again. I have the filter and legend displayed at the bottom of the calendar. I would like the legend, which currently shows 6 categories in one column (just to the right of the filter selection) to show 2 columns of 3 dategories each. And, if more categories are added, would split the columns more or less evenly. Does that make sense?

The reason that I would like to do this is that I ultimately would like the filter and legend cell above the calendar, but now I feel like the cell is too tall because of the single column of categories in the legend.

I appreciate your time with this -

After more consideration, I don't think the legend is really *that* important to display, 2 columns or not. But, if I want the filter on top of the calendar, could it be displayed between the navigation buttons and the month/year display with the filter button immediately right of the drop-down? If so, could I get some help adding that?

You can place the filter anywhere on your page, but not within the calendar itself.

Ok. I guess it wouldn't make sense to place it by the navigation controls :-)
