Default Log in returns me to the login page with no warning of what's wrong

When I enter administration mode, I get this error (using trial mode):

Configuration Error!

Please configure a database connection using the Setup Manager before using the Event Manager.

Setup manager page gives me the login screen. Logging in returns me to the login screen with no warning of what's wrong. Trying to log in so I can replenish the Order Number to get the full version. But I can't.

Thanks for helping me resolve this.

If you've never managed to log in to the Setup Manager, files might be corrupt. It could also be a problem with sessions on your server.

Did you run the tester script prior to installing the calendar?

Try running the test script again and see if it reports sessions are still working correctly.

If so, verify the user name and password you're using to log in. If you're unsure how to do this, open a support ticket and I'll tell you how.
