Default Limit to 1 instance of a category per day?

Hey I hope some of you remember me

Brownie points to anyone who can wrap their head around this. I'm back with a new project, and figured I would turn to EPC again! So here's the deal, I'll relate this to the demo naming convention despite I've bought epc in the past.

if there is the Special category set on a day, can you DISABLE anyone from adding second instance of the Special category on that same exact day? Hmm.

That right there, would be amazing. Why do such a thing diske? Well.

I basically have a bunch of guys who want to throw their vacation days on a calendar, "EPC!" i boasted. But....

Well, we have groups of 2 guys in 1 department (category) and we dont want both of those guys having the ability to Both say their going on vacation.

Why not just go on the honor system? Well, they would have access to delete their co-workers vacation days, and I'm not even sure if its Clear who posted their vacation first, ya know? That could get dirty!

I just want 1 category per day as a max, or a way to change the # of category listings per day.

If I was unclear as to what my objective is, or if you have a different approach please let me know

All other aspects of modifying the calendar I dont have an issue with, since Vegra and Brian trained me back in the day, lol

Thank you for your thoughts

-Diske

You can't do what you're describing.

However, each event has a unique ID that increments sequentially. So if there are two overlapping events, the one with the smaller ID number will be the oldest. This can be check in the database or using the [eid] description parser function.
