Default Hosting on home server

On the school website I'm making they want to use this calendar software.

Problem is, our host does not have the necessary software installed, particularly mysql and zend. The school, considering it's current position, will not authorise for these upgrades. What I wanted to do was use one of our many servers to host the calendar only. Install MYSQL, Zend, PHP etc on that, and run the calendar from it.

How easy is this to do? What tools and software exactly do I need to isntall? It's windows server 2003 the server runs on, though I'll initially be testing it on an XP machine to see if I can get it working.

Once I have that successfully working, I then have to go about emedding the calendar into the website hosted on the original server. I'm not sure if I'm trying too hard with this or if there is a simpler solution that I just don't know about. I'm very new to this web stuff.

Any guides tips and help would be greatly appreciated.

Having read a few other topics I stumbled across this:

"If neither are allowed on your host, perhaps you should consider a different host as you will not be able to run the script from another server because the licensing ties your domain and the computer that the calendar is run from. If they don't match, you will get license error messages and the calendar will run in reduced functionality mode (displays only a single event)."

In which case I'm buggered. Never mind, hopefully they'll change their mind on paying for the host upgrade but I doubt it.

If the server already has PHP installed, then I suggest you try the Tester script before giving up. If ionCube is supported, then you could use the flat-file database (which is a simple file) to save your events.

We can tackle the integration after the calendar is installed.
