Default flat file error

I can't seem find a to make a post in the regular topic areas, so I had to come here to find a way to post a problem.

I have problem with the flat file. I installed the product and selected the flat file, gave it a name "NEWcaldate", saved the changes and logged out of the setup manager. I then changed the permissions to 646. I then went to the event manager and entered several events. I started the calendar and could see all of the events that I had entered. the next day when I logged onto the calender there were no events in the calendar. I then logged into the setup manager, there was a message on the database page, which said:

There was an error writing to the flat-file database 'Newcaldat.php'.

To create a new database, rename the 'NEWcaldat.php file' in the database directory to 'NEWcaldat.php'
or upload a blank file with that name to the database directory. Give the file write permissions (CHMOD 646).

No events can be saved until this issue is resolved.

Please make the recommended changes then Click Here to try again

I deleted the original file "newcaldat" and created a blank file "zorro" but the same error problem writing to the flat-file occurs. Do you have an idea of what the problem might be. I am up to date with the current version of the calendar.

The only thing that could cause that is if your host moved your account to a different server, not retaining the last changes that you had made.

If you created a new file, you will also need to set its permissions before you're able to use it as your database (chmod 646).

I have see sometimes when 646 simply wouldn't do... and 666 had to be used.

PS: You create a post the same way on all forums. I've moved it.

I recreated the flat file "NEWcaldat.php" and saved the changes, I then went to the database folder to change the permissions, but there was no "NEWcaldat.php" file in the folder. I'm baffled, where do the file changes get saved? I can't find it in any of the Calendar subfolders? It's as if the file never actually got written to disk.

I then created a blank "Newcaldate.php" flle and uploaded it to calendar/database folder and tried to save the changes again, but I still get the error writing to the flat-file database.

Can you open a support ticket with the URL and login to your calendar Setup Manager so I can take a look?
