Default After Installation : Setup Manager Fatal Error

Hey! Thanks for this great app. Has worked great for several clients already.

Here is the issue, after install of the IonCube PHP 4.X version of the app and configuring password I get this error message while attempting to go to the Setup Manager :

Fatal error: Call to undefined function: html_entity_decode() in /www/cgi/calendar/setup/index.php on line 131

I searched the forums and found some info about: html_entity_decode but had no luck in getting it to work properly. So, it might be that the server is PHP 4.nowhere near what I need (this is a client's account, still waiting to hear from the hosting provider). Anyhow, let me know if there is a way to work with the info I have, or I just missed the boat entirely. Thanks.

It seems your PHP error reporting is set up too strict, such as for a development situation. Can you adjust your PHP error reporting level? If so, you can make it report less which will make this error go away.

Interesting. I will have to contact their hosting provider. I don't have access to that data, it's a pretty limited account setup.

Also, just found out that they are running php 4.1. I don't know if that would have any bearing on what you have designed. But I do appreciate the help and your quick reply.

So yea, we tried that too. Seems a no-go so far.

You wouldn't happen to have another solution in your bag of tricks? Thanks.

Sorry, but I misread the error message. html_entity_decode is a PHP 4.3 and greater command and (at least) 4.3 is required to run the calendar. Can they upgrade PHP?

I see.

This is no criticism on you or your software, but the tester gave me a pass on PHP 4.1.2. Is this something you could use to help others in the future? It's probably not common and won't happen very often, but just a thought. Thanks.

We'll just migrate them over to us then if it is an issue, since their host won't budge or get with 2010.

Thanks Brian.

The test script does check that PHP is 4.3 or better, but there may be something in that server configuration that prevented it from seeing the correct version number.
